Brian Galloway
Musical Director

Brian Galloway studied music and languages at Queen's University, Belfast, moving to London to take up a research post in early 19th century German opera. This led to work as a pianist, actor, singer and conductor. He worked with Opera Viva and the Mayer-Lismann workshop. He formed Opera Integra and with them has conducted 30 operas and with the group gave the first performances in modern times of Scarlatti's Rosaura, Cesti's Orontea and Lully's Cadmus & Hermione and Roland.

He has worked with students at conservatoires in Holland. He continues expanding Opera Integra's repertoire and also coaches singers working with amateur and professional artists in London. He has been recently involved with recitals and opera concerts with students in Australia.

 

Anthony McCarthy

Anthony McCarthy was educated at Wells Cathedral School in Somerset before attending the University of Sheffield. After graduating and winning the recital prize he received a scholarship from the Countess of Munster to study at the Royal College of Music.

Anthony lives in Central London where he juggles a busy schedule of playing and conducting across the capital. As a pianist Anthony works regularly with the Mezin Trio and the London Salon Players with whom he has travelled around the world on various ocean liners. Anthony works with many choirs and ensembles in London.

In 2006 he had the opportunity of conducting Chorus Mundi in Melbourne, Australia. His work with actors and singers has taken him from the West End to Bahrain.


Michael Gieleta

Michael Gieleta trained at Warsaw, Milan and Oxford universities.

Michael has worked with Opera Integra since 2004 on productions of Il Trovatore (2004), Ernani (2006), Oberon (2007) and The Tales of Hoffmann (2008). He will be directing The Merry Wives of Windsor for Opera Integra in 2009.

Michael’s other opera credits include Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, Tosca, Madame Butterfly, L’Elisir d’Amore, Don Pasquale, Lucia di Lammermoor (State Theatre, Pretoria), Samson and Dalilah (Vision Opera) and a number of projects at the Royal College of Music. Opera assisting credits include The Queen of Spades (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), Katya Kabanova and Carmen (Glyndebourne). In 2004 Michael was made Artistic Director of the Cherub Company.

His theatre credits include A Perfect Ganesh (Gielgud Theatre, RADA), The Way of the World (Rose Bruford), the British premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz’s Hortensia and the Museum of Dreams (Finborough Theatre),  Anyone Can Whistle (Bridewell Theatre), Last Song of the Nightingale and Change of Heart (New End). Theatre assisting credits include The Tempest (Royal Shakespeare Company), Heartbreak House and Arcadia (Chichester Festival Theatre). Michael has also worked with Franco Zeffirelli on the acclaimed production of Absolutely! (perhaps) at the Wyndham’s Theatre in the West End.
